Energy EFT: EFT With Energy In MindEFT Emotional Freedom Techniques, tapping on special energy points whilst tuning in to an emotional problem which needs to be released, is an energy technique. EFT is not hypnosis, it isn't witchcraft, it isn't psychology or a behavioural pattern interrupt, it isn't tissue massage or physiotherapy - EFT is an example of modern energy work. Trying to deny this simple fact in order to gain "scientific acceptance" is not an option, as energy work is greatly influenced by intention and directed by conscious focus of attention. Using EFT from the wrong mind set reduces its effectiveness; and conversely, when we apply EFT "with energy in mind," we put EFT in its rightful place in the treatment of the mind, body, spirit triad and we improve its effectiveness, power, ease of use immediately and noticeably.

Energy EFT:EFT With Energy In MindEFT Emotional Freedom Techniques, tapping on special energy points whilst tuning in to an emotional problem which needs to be released, is an energy technique. In many ways, to call EFT "Energy EFT" is a tautology, like talking about wet water or white snow. EFT *is* energy work, pure and simple. However, still in the second decade of the second millennium after Christ, there are those who believe the concept of the human energy body to be "unscientific" and many others who are afraid to stand up and talk about the tangible reality of the energy body which expresses itself through the 6th sense, the medium of physical feelings in the body that have no physical origin. There are also those who believe that if they came clean on the fact that EFT is energy work, they wouldn't be able to "slide it in through the back door" of establishments such as schools and prisons, or "sell it to" clients and corporations. This would be no problem at all if it wasn't for the fact that in energy work, denials, lies and reversals structurally affect the outcome of the situation. These "energy reversals" rob EFT of its power in the direct and simple treatment of human emotions; and at the high end, literally break its spirit and render EFT ineffective. For example, if you were to strap clients down in chairs and have a robot arm with a rubber finger tap them in a laboratory, we have no doubt that EFT soon would be declared to be ineffective - when the same clients, doing EFT properly and with energy in mind, would experience benefits across the board in actual reality and way beyond mere "statistical significance" of improvements in their presenting conditions.
When we speak about doing EFT with energy in mind, it is not just a mind set we are talking about. Focusing on the energy body and on the task of releasing blockages from the energy body that preclude a free and healthy flow of energy through the energy system is a paradigm shift. This is not talking therapy; it is energy healing in essence. As such, it has different codes of conduct, different approaches, different tools and techniques, and requires not just a completely different mind set to psychology or physiology, but also a change of heart, so to speak. For example, energy work between two people ceases to work if one of them (the practitioner, especially) is shielded and detached from the client. For energy work such as EFT to work properly, people have to enter into rapport and at the very least, the practitioner needs to be finely aware of what is happening with the client at the emotional/energetic level, or else they will simply fail to spot what needs to be done, or be incapable of responding correctly to the client's needs. Also, the practitioner of modern energy work needs to be aware of their own energy states and be able to work with those correctly; this being so, in modern energy treatments we do not have the kind of hierarchy between the all knowing healer and the helpless patient that one might find in other fields. This is just the tip of the iceberg of the enormous differences which exist between modern energy work on the one hand, and standard psychology and medicine on the other; and these differences are driven by the enormous differences in the modality of energy work compared to working with the mind, or with the physical body. Some of the many other intrinsic differences between modern energy work and the other two fields involve a different attitude and understanding of the treatment *flow" itself; how to pinpoint and accurately address the flow of a session, the flow of an intervention, and to find and remove blockages to the flow system that is the treatment as it unfolds.
Energetic realities respond to intention and conscious attention. A surgeon may be able to stitch up a wound successfully whilst thinking about his next holiday and doubting strongly that the patient will survive this; in energy work, to be so distracted and to hold such beliefs about the patient would be simply disastrous. Energy work being so sensitive to conscious attention and intention, modern energy workers have to learn different ways to think about the client, different ways to *feel towards* the client, but also, different ways in which language is used to communicate with the client. Concepts need to be clearly defined and explained; words need to be used with care and not just understood at the top level with their dictionary definitions, but with a real sense of the energy forms these words carry; and all and everything that happens in a session needs to be re-assessed with energy in mind, from a simple gesture to the overall outcome of the treatment, the expectations and goals, through every step of the treatment path. Modern energy work deals directly with the Third Field in the mind/body/spirit triad. It is as yet an undiscovered country with its own rules and regulations, but also with tremendous opportunity to correct mistakes and end problems which have never been addressed properly before. There is much to be learned, much to be found out about the human energy system and how it relates to mind and body; denying its existence leads to more of the old, and missing out on the opportunities of the new. There is nothing to be gained in trying to hamstring EFT by making out that it is an old thing, claiming it to be "the same as acupuncture" or a weird and dubious esoteric psychology tool languishing in the murky badlands at the ends of acceptable science. EFT is a new method, one of the first modern direct energy techniques, and used as that, extremely powerful. So the time has come to understand that it is necessary to state that we are doing energy work when we engage in EFT, and state it outright - hence Energy EFT. To preserve long term the spirit of EFT, and to not just continue getting the gains and positive effects EFT treatments have on real women, men and children across the world but to build upon them and unlock the true potential of EFT to help people lead much, much better lives, we need to take that step now, stop being afraid of calling a spade a spade. EFT is energy work, it is at home in the Third Field of the mind/body/spirit triad, and an important ambassador for an entirely new field of science finally emerging now.
